Since I first saw the Balclutha, wooden boats and iron men have fascinated me.

My first experience with class boats was when I came to San Francisco as a young boy of 8. My mom and I ventured to see the tall ship Balclutha tied up to the dock but with the sense that she could still sail. I was hooked and even I’ve never owned a classic wooden boat there is still an allure that draws me to them. That’s why this documentary means so much to me. I want to see these boats live on into the future.
